He always paints. During my stay, we made art works three or four times. 

I was very curious how he uses washi. 

In Echizen Washi Village, there are too many kinds of paper produced by each artisan to know which to use for your own style in art. Also, usually artisans don't paint or use their paper for themselves except for their daily use such as for memo and wrapping small gifts. So I was afraid the way we see paper was based on our prejudiced idea. 

So I wanted to visit my mentor to learn something from him.

He showed me monotypes. I didn't know even Rembrandt used this technique for his etchings.....!
