Echizen Washi

Joop, the Dutch printing artist, sent me the recent photos of our collaboration work, which will be used for cookery books in May.

What I did is just carving, but it looks very nice. I love how he arranges colors on his printing work.

Before we have meals in Japan,  we say ` Itadaki masu `, respecting each life from food, and after, we say ` Gochi so-u sama ` appriciating each life from food again. Some foreigners say those are just the same with ` Bon apetit ` , but actually not. .... Joop helped the idea for me to make a print with the words. 

And I thought of fish for our main dish and  that sometimes we're blamed for. But of course some people don't like fish at all...
